ArtBus is a monthly programme aboard a vintage Routemaster, bringing patrons, curators, press and collectors to non-profit spaces off London’s beaten track.
ArtBus seeks to support project spaces, artist run galleries, non-profits and studios through the facilitation of introductions to a targeted audience.
These exhibition spaces, a crucial part of London’s vibrant cultural offering, are often overlooked because they are hard to reach. By mapping out the places of interest within a neighbourhood or borough, ArtBus helps reduce perceived distances and encourages passengers to return.
ArtBus visits up to five spaces per journey, and can sit up to 65 passengers. To date, ArtBus has taken almost 500 passengers to over 40 spaces throughout London.
- ArtBus is committed to engaging the public through the publication of ArtBus routes for all Londoners to enjoy by bike or public transport.
- ArtBus Recommends, the ArtBus newsletter, aims to highlight exhibitions in London’s world class non-profit spaces to a wider audience.
